Calle 13 was a Puerto Rican urban music group known for their eclectic style and lyrics with social and political content. It was composed of brothers René Pérez (Residente) and Eduardo Cabra (Visitante), and sometimes also included Ileana Cabra (iLe). The band was known for fusing diverse genres such as rap, rock, ska, merengue, and Latin American rhythms, often using unconventional instruments. Their music addresses themes such as Latin American identity, poverty, inequality, and criticism of the political and economic system, often with a satirical and provocative tone. They won numerous Latin Grammy Awards and were recognized for their impact on urban music.
